The Sunset
Every night she watches the sunset, the beauty of it shadowed by the absence of her love. She can't see the contrast of colors as the sun sets, she feels the emptiness of her heart, her life, the loneliness of being one instead of two.
She sits there every night though watching until she can no longer see the sun. Sadness blankets her as the sun descendeds below the horizon. She feels alone, most days she can feel him by her side but today she is struggling to feel him.
She starts to panic, why doesn't she feel him? As he stopped loving her? She feels her stomach churning, the awful feeling inside of fear and panic. It's a constant companion to her by now, she should be used to it, after all she feels it a 100 times a day.
She scans the horizon as the colors in the sky turn pink, his favorite color on her, searching for him searching to feel his presence begging to feel him beside her.
Tears well up in her eyes, her heart starts to ache as she watches the sky get darker. With each sunset, it's saying the goodbye she never was able to say to him.
